My Dad completed his 2nd 1/2 marathon this morning in San Diego, at an incredibly hot and humid race, and I couldn't be prouder! He's been doing awesome with his running, hitting more than 20 miles a week for weeks now, and getting in great shape :)
He's going to be at PCTR's Big Basin running the 25k, which will be his furthest distance ever! I'm running this as well as a few other people from OCTR (including e-rod). Since it's just a few days before my 22nd birthday, it's been deemed a bit of a birthday run, and what better way to celebrate than a 50k with friends and family :D
Dad before the race and after, with his tech shirt and medal :)

Nice to see the running bug in the family. Hey happy birthday in advanced. You'll have fun in that course. Are you gonna wear something to signify your b-day run. A plastic lei perhaps:)
Uh there were seals in my swim but they didn't come play with me. Mebbe I trash around too much in the water.
WOO HOO! Old Guys Rule!!!!!
Congrats to your Dad. That'd be so cool if you could run a 50k together - or a marathon (let him work up to 50k).
Yeah for your Dad! Running with the family is so much fun! : )

Hey daughter,
How sweet to post my run. Thanks much for your support and encouragement. I'm also very proud of you, both on and off the trail.
And thanks to all those who posted with kind words. What a nice group of people.
The run was, well, a little ugly. At any rate, I went out for a short run this morning to shake it off. Got to get some decent miles in for Big Basin. Looking forward to celebrating your birthday that weekend, running with you and the OC folks. Also hoping for nice tree cover and hopefully cooler temps.
Love (from back of the pack),
Dad
Congratulations to your dad. Enjoy your 50K together. I can tell you that he will never forget it.
