Full report will follow, but the short version is that I had an awesome race.
Final time: 4:23:56!
That means my pace was an average of 10:04!!!
Beating my previous pr of 4:54:56 by over 30 minutes :D
I ran this race last year in 5:32:38, so I took over an hour off my marathon time in one year :)
Plus, my half time was 2:16:17, meaning that I had an awesome negative split!
I was aiming for 4:45, but decided to push early, since I never had before, and had such a great race. I kept waiting to blow up but never did. My last mile was a 9:06 pace and the last 1/2 mile or so was an 8:22 race (my watch was about .3 off of the actual markers). It was so cool to be 'fast' for once in my life.
Just checked out the results and I finished in the top 32% of all runners, the top 20% of women, and the top 19% of women 19-24.
I'm still sort of in shock.
But super happy that I really have improved so much fitness wise in the last year. I felt a million times better this year than last.
Thanks so much everyone for all your support!!!

Wow! That is amazing - good job!
great work Addy! I'm so happy for you, what an accomplishment! On saturday I kept thinking of you during my long run. It felt like December in berkeley, misting and very windy. But I told myself, Addy is out there going 26.2 miles right now, this run is nothing in comparison.
Yeah Addy!! That is awesome, totally inspiring! You have been putting in a lot of work, and this is the pay off. Nice job.
OMG! That's incredibly awesome! You are my idol. I hope I can do the same for my next marathon; that's what I'm shooting for--a ten minute pace.
Addy- you did absolutely amazing! I'm so happy for you, and WOW a 1/2 marathon PR in the second half of the marathon. Way to go, girl =)
SOOO easy to Figure out ADDY, you don't have that SCHOOL thing going on & distracting you & your running -- haha
OK just kidding, WAY To RUN Strong!! that is an impressive time!!
Congrats & Well Done :-)
Woohoo! Way to go! Congrats on an incredible PR. I had that same feeling at Eugene like I was going too fast. But when you find out you can hang in there and even push the pace, its pure gold! And the best is yet to come. : )
Addy way to go! I didn't get a chance to see you Sunday but when I heard you were smoking the course it energized me to pick up my pace. Go Bears!
Thank you so much everyone!!!
e-rod and jessica- you guys (and abbie of course!) were so amazing for being out there. It was such a lift to see familiar faces, especially since I had planned on not having anyone there. Thank you thank you thank you!
Sarah- Glad you were able to use me to get in a good run! Hope the weather and berkeley cheers up. Even with its coldness, i'm still missing that lovely city
Red- what a sweet thing to say! I'm sure you'll be able to meet that goal
Sarah- I definitely thought of you while I was out there, hoping I could have a similar breakthrough! You were most certaintly inspiration out on the course :)
